Adele Jinadu is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of Lagos.
He has held teaching positions at Macalester College, Ahmadu Bello University, Lagos State University, University of Zimbabwe and visited professorships at Indiana University and Michigan State University. He was president of the African Association of Political Science (1997 - 1999) and vice-president of the International Political Science Association (2000 - 2003), while serving on the editorial advisory boards of PUBLIUS: The Journal of Federalism and the International Political Science Review.
He was a member of the National Electoral Commission (1987 - 1992), served as Director of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (1992 - 1996) and Executive Director of the Centre for Advanced Social Science (2004 - 2008). He has served on many country review missions and consulted for international organisations, notably being one of six consultants who prepared the draft charter of the African Union.
He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Minnesota, US, and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
