CLAIM: Fani Kayode took to his official Facebook page claiming that the presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was flown to Paris for medical attention after he collapsed in an outing in Kaduna state.
In the Facebook post, he also claimed that Atiku Abubakar was complaining of severe pains in his head and all over his body throughout the flight to Abuja.
FACT-CHECKING PROCESS: A fact check carried out by the Centre for Democracy and Development revealed that the message is false.
Further checks show that Paul Ibe the spokesman for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar debunked the claim.
He stated that “The former Vice President traveled last night on a scheduled trip to meet with the technical partners of one his business entities that were impacted by the Covid-19 global lockdown and the consequent economic downturn.”
“The meeting will also focus on conclusive discussions for a planned expansion of its production facility,”
However, the spokesman did not mention the country his principal traveled to in the statement.
