Welcome to the first episode of the CDD Half Hour Show on Countering Fake News in Election, the robust platform which aims to facilitate conversation around countering disinformation, misinformation, and fake news in Elections in Nigeria.
Today’s topic is “What is the role of Citizens/CSOs in Countering Fake News?” the episode will address look at how citizens and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) can stop fake news in Ekiti state, before, during and after the governorship election schedule for June 18, 2022. This program is reaching you live from Voice FM 89.9 Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The Show is aired on this station every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30pm – 3:00pm.
The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Kingdom Agency for International Development (UKAID) through the National Democratic Institute (NDI), initiated the CDD Half Hour Show on Countering Fake News in Election, as a platform to engage Nigeria on National discourse – topical issues and serve as advocacy mechanism for stop fake news.
